Over ten years ago, Morgan Freeman’s chef, Trish Berry, and the self-proclaimed “Redneck Chef,” Harlon Malone, put their heads together and came up with the idea for The Blue Biscuit, and it was all about Food & Fun. So far, with a lot of help from friends, family, employees, loyal customers, and an inordinate amount of luck, we’ve managed to stick with the plan, and the Biscuit gospel has spread far and wide. We have tried to make The Blue Biscuit like the Delta we call home - simple, genuine, and welcoming. Our menus are filled with that “simple but delicious” Delta food, with a few more complex offerings sprinkled in at Dinner, plus a Full Bar and a fun place to stay the night. (See AirBnB)
Make yourself at home!
In addition to Lunch and Dinner, we present Live Music every Saturday night, (and many Friday and Sunday nights) with music by outstanding musicians from every corner of the Delta, the nation and the world. We have had the pleasure of hosting domestic and International tours, luncheons, dinner parties, supper clubs, cocktail parties, showers, rehearsal dinners, weddings, wedding receptions, poolside parties at the biscuit, (and our adjoining property for the last 30 years). We have Uptown or Downhome menus for every need and occasion.
The Biscuit has been recognized by the BBC and Chef Rick Stein (72-hour Pulled Pork), the State of Mississippi (The Blue Biscuit Festival), Delta Magazine, Eat Drink Mississippi, The Sip Magazine, Mississippi Magazine, Southern Living Magazine (Top Ten “Must Eats”), DeSoto Magazine, WABG, WXVT, Susan Puckett’s EAT DRINK DELTA, the AP, NY Times, Max99, SupertalkMS, the Enterprise-Tocsin, and several International Publications, for our food, events, and hospitality.
If you’re visiting Indianola, we hope you will go to the incredible BB King Museum. The Museum will leave you with a true impression of the warm, humble man that the world admired, and we knew and loved (see the pictures on the bar). There are a dozen or so Blues Trail Markers located in and within minutes of Indianola. See msbluestrail.org for maps and info.
Thank you so much for visiting The Biscuit! If there’s anything you need, don’t just sit there! Please let us know.
